Red Delicious

Recognized in 1880, in Iowa, in a competition to replace the Ben Davis apple, Red Delicious are renouned for their familiar “bumps” at their base. They are deep red to striped in colour and are mildly sweet with very crisp yellow flesh. They are excellent for fresh eating or in a salad. They look great for a long time so they are a favourite in centrepieces and wreaths at holiday time.
